Question 1

Are the Buenos Aires walking tours really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes — they are tip-based free tours. There is no fixed price to join, and at the end you give your guide whatever you feel the experience was worth. You still reserve a place in advance so the guide knows how many people to expect.

Question 2

What are the best walking tours in Buenos Aires?

Accepted Answer

The classic introduction is the historic-centre walk from the Congreso along Avenida de Mayo to Plaza de Mayo and the Casa Rosada. If you have a second morning, the Retiro and Recoleta route covers the city's Belle Époque palaces and the families behind them. Compare the tours above and book directly.

Question 3

Are the tours available in English?

Accepted Answer

Yes — departures run in both English and Spanish, and the languages offered are shown on each tour listing. Check the listing before booking so you join the right departure.

Question 4

How long do the tours last?

Accepted Answer

The historic-centre walk runs about three hours and the Retiro and Recoleta route about two and a half. Each listing shows its exact duration and start time.

Question 5

Is Buenos Aires safe to explore on foot?

Accepted Answer

The central and northern neighbourhoods our tours cover are busy and well used by locals throughout the day. As in any large capital, keep your phone and bag close on crowded streets and around transport hubs. Walking with a local guide is also the easiest way to learn which streets are worth wandering afterwards.

Question 6

Do I need to book in advance?

Accepted Answer

Yes, please reserve your place. Free tours have limited group sizes and popular departures fill up, especially in spring and autumn. You can check availability and book directly on each tour listing.
