Walking is at the heart of how we explore. Amsterdam's canals, Barcelona's Old Town and Modernist streets, Madrid's Golden Age centre, Montmartre in Paris, Oslo's waterfront and the historic cores of Bucharest, Segovia and Valencia all reveal themselves best at street level.

On foot you notice the details, hear the stories and stumble on the corners that buses simply pass by.

Expect a guided walk through the city's most characterful streets and squares, blending the famous landmarks with hidden corners, local legends and everyday life. Guides share history, culture and recommendations as you go, and many walks add a theme – architecture, street art, a neighbourhood, or tapas along the way.

Most departures are small-group for a more personal pace, and private walking tours are available if you would like your own guide. Some experiences include extras such as food, drinks or a special stop; each tour page has the detail.

Walking tours run all year. Spring and autumn offer the most comfortable temperatures and long daylight; summer is lively but warm, so an earlier start helps; and winter is quieter and atmospheric, though northern cities like Oslo have shorter days. There is almost always a good time to walk.
