The Sé de Lisboa is the oldest church in the city, begun in the 12th century after the Christian conquest of Lisbon. Its two towers look like a fortress above the Alfama district.
Walk through the naves and the ambulatory with its chapels, see the baptistery where Saint Anthony was baptised, and climb to the upper choir and balcony for a close look at the rose window. The Tesouro da Sé museum holds the cathedral's treasures.
The cloisters are closed to the public at the moment. The cathedral can close for religious holidays.
