The ferry leaves from Battery Park and sails past the Manhattan skyline to Liberty Island. Walk the grounds around the Statue of Liberty and visit the Statue of Liberty Museum.
The ferry then goes to Ellis Island, where 12 million immigrants arrived between 1892 and 1954. The National Museum of Immigration tells their stories with photos, objects and personal accounts. One option also includes a New York guidebook and a self-guided walking tour.
The ticket does not include the pedestal or the crown. Allow at least 3 hours for both islands, and avoid the last boats, which leave too little time.
