Full description
The Pinacoteca Ambrosiana is one of the oldest galleries in Europe. See Caravaggio's Basket of Fruit, Raphael's cartoon for the School of Athens, Brueghel's flowers and Leonardo's Portrait of a Musician.
In the 17th-century reading room, admire drawings from Leonardo's Codex Atlanticus. Then go down into the Crypt of San Sepolcro, a medieval underground church near the old Roman forum.
Plan at least 2 hours for both. Last entry for a full visit is at 16:00. The crypt is not accessible for wheelchairs.
