Pena Palace sits on a hilltop above Sintra, painted red and yellow and full of towers and domes. King Ferdinand II built it in the 19th century, and it is one of the finest examples of Romantic architecture in the world. Sintra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
You pick one of two tickets. Both include the palace and Pena Park. One adds the option of a shuttle between the park entrance and the palace, and the other is a priority entry ticket. Your time slot applies only to the palace, and you can visit the park at any time.
Show your ticket at the Porta Férrea entrance. Allow about 30 minutes to walk from the park entrance to the palace. Flash photos and tripods are not allowed inside, and refunds are guaranteed if the palace closes because of fire risk.

• Tickets are free on Sundays and national public holidays for all residents in Portugal. Go to the monument's ticket office on the day of your visit and show your Citizen Card.
• Refunds are guaranteed if Pena Palace closes due to fire risk
• Flash photography/tripods are not allowed inside the palace
• Dogs are not allowed in the palace/park, except guide dogs
• Show your smartphone ticket at the Porta Férrea entrance
• Visit the park at any time; your time slot applies only to the palace
• Allow 30 minutes to walk from the park to the palace
• A paid shuttle runs every 15 minutes between the park entrance and the palace. Wheelchair accessible
• A free hop-on hop-off shuttle runs between the Palace and the Chalet of the Countess of Edla. Show your entry ticket to board
