Full description

The Palace of Ajuda stands on a hill above Belém. After the 1755 earthquake destroyed the royal palace in the city centre, the royal family moved here, first to a wooden palace that burned in 1794, then to the stone palace you see today.

It became the home of the royal family in the 19th century. Walk through the throne room, the ballroom, the royal apartments and rooms full of furniture, paintings and decorative art.

The time you choose is a visit shift, not a fixed time. The morning shift runs from 10:00 to 14:00, and the afternoon shift from 14:00 to closing.
