Step into the heart of one of Spain’s most beautiful historic cities with our Classic Segovia Tour, a fascinating journey through centuries of history, architecture and local culture. This experience is the perfect introduction to Segovia, taking you through its most iconic monuments and hidden historic corners. From the impressive Roman Aqueduct to the fairytale Alcázar, this tour brings the city’s past to life in a clear, engaging and memorable way. Your journey begins at the legendary Roman Aqueduct, the great symbol of Segovia and one of the most extraordinary Roman monuments in Spain. From there, we will enter the historic old town, walking past the Church of San Millán and towards La Canaleja, where you will enjoy views of some of the city’s most emblematic sites, including the viewpoint, the Casa de los Picos, the Palace of Cascales and the old city granary. We will continue to the Plaza de Medina del Campo, one of the best places to understand Segovia’s political and social past, including the famous Comuneros Revolt and the history of the beautiful Church of San Martín. The route then leads us into the city’s Jewish heritage before arriving at the Plaza Mayor, the vibrant heart of Segovia. From the Plaza Mayor, we will continue towards the former Episcopal Palace and the Church of San Esteban, before entering the atmospheric Canonjías quarter, one of the most charming and historic areas of the city. Along its ancient streets, we will reach the House of Antonio Machado, where the famous Spanish poet once lived, before continuing to the Puerta de San Andrés. The tour finishes near Segovia’s crown jewel: the magnificent Alcázar of Segovia. From this spectacular viewpoint, we will place the monument in context and admire the surrounding heritage, including the Church of Vera Cruz, the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de la Fuencisla and the Monastery of Santa María del Parral. More than just a sightseeing walk, this tour is a complete historical introduction to Segovia. You will discover the city’s Roman origins, medieval splendour, Jewish legacy, literary heritage and unique local traditions. We will also explore essential elements of Segovian culture, including its famous gastronomy, making this experience ideal for visitors who want to truly understand the city beyond the monuments.
