Tour of the Fjord Islands: Lindøya and Hovedøya

Explore the islands of the Oslo Fjord on a guided tour that combines nature, history, and local culture. The tour begins at Aker Brygge, where we’ll take the ferry to cruise among the islands while you learn how this fjord was formed and why it’s different from others in Norway.

We’ll walk along trails through forests and along the coast, discovering places like Hovedøya, where you’ll explore the ruins of a medieval monastery and ancient military sites that highlight the fjord’s strategic importance over the centuries.

We’ll also pass by typical Norwegian summer cottages; you’ll learn how the property system works and discover how Norwegians use these islands as a natural retreat during the summer.

The tour lasts approximately 3 hours and includes ferry transfers and gentle walks between the islands. It concludes with a tasting of Norwegian products, where you’ll sample traditional flavors while reflecting on everything you’ve experienced during the tour.
