Florence: Casa Buonarroti and Works by Michelangelo

Head to Casa Buonarroti, located at Via Ghibellina 70 in the historic center of Florence, and visit the museum dedicated to the memory of Michelangelo and the history of his family.

Explore the palace’s rooms and collections on your own: historic halls and sections dedicated to Michelangelo’s works, drawings, and related materials. You’ll be able to admire two important early works by the artist, the Madonna della Scala and the Battle of the Centaurs, as well as the River God, a large preparatory model attributed to Michelangelo. The museum houses 205 of Michelangelo’s drawings, which are displayed in rotation in small groups for conservation purposes.

Good to know:

- Admission every 20 minutes from 10:10 a.m. to 3:50 p.m.; closed on Tuesdays

- After booking, we’ll send you the official museum admission ticket: show it at the entrance, either on your smartphone or as a printout

- The presence of a specific drawing is not guaranteed (rotating exhibition)

- Partial accessibility for large wheelchairs

- No pets allowed
