Full description
Villa Lante in Bagnaia is one of the most important Italian gardens of the 16th century. The terraces follow a water axis that guides visitors from the upper part of the garden down to the large parterre.
Stroll among ornamental hedges, sculptures, and monumental fountains: the Fountain of the Flood, the Water Chain, the Fountain of the Giants, the Table Fountain, the Fountain of the Lamps, and the Fountain of the Four Moors. The complex is complemented by the two twin palaces, Gambara and Montalto.
Admission is free and follows the standard route open to the public; any special openings of the palaces are not included. Hours: Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; the villa closes at 4:30 p.m. (1:15 p.m. on Tuesdays). Dogs are allowed in the park on a leash (muzzles required for medium and large breeds).
