The Scala Contarini del Bovolo is a tall spiral staircase on the outside of a palazzo, mixing Gothic and Renaissance styles. 'Bovolo' means 'snail shell' in Venetian.
Climb to the top for a view over the roofs and bell towers of Venice. Orson Welles filmed scenes of his Othello here. Your ticket also includes the Tintoretto Room. Plan about 30 minutes for the staircase.
