Full description
SassodiSole is the Terzuoli family’s winery in the Montalcino area, nestled in the Val d’Orcia landscape. The tour begins with a welcome at the winery and an introduction to the family and the estate.
You’ll then proceed to the winemaking cellar, where you’ll learn about fermentation and aging in stainless steel tanks, and to the barrel cellar, where the wine ages in large oak barrels. In the tasting room, you’ll sample the estate’s wines according to the package you’ve chosen: a basic tasting, three wines with appetizers, or four wines paired with typical Tuscan products (cold cuts, Pecorino di Pienza, and bruschetta with extra virgin olive oil). Among the wines offered: Spumante Rosato, Orcia DOC, Rosso di Montalcino DOC, and Brunello di Montalcino DOCG.
Tours depart Monday through Saturday at 10:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 2:15 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.; closed on Sundays. After the tasting, you can take a stroll through the vineyards. Wine is served only to adults.
