Full description

The Vesuvio Express bus takes you up the slopes of Mount Vesuvius to the start of the path to the crater. Buses run every hour, and the ride from Ercolano takes about 20 minutes.

This ticket is for the roundtrip bus only, from Ercolano or from Naples. The entry ticket to Vesuvius National Park is not included, so buy it separately. You choose your bus time with the staff to match the time of your entry ticket.

In Ercolano, meet at Piazzale Stazione Circumvesuviana, 15 minutes before departure. In bad weather the crater can close, and the trip can be rescheduled or refunded.

The Vesuvio Express bus takes you up the slopes of Mount Vesuvius to the start of the path to the crater. Buses run every hour, and the ride from Ercolano takes about 20 minutes.

• In case of bad weather, Vesuvius could be closed, you can enjoy a panoramic tour around the cone

• One way takes 20 minutes

• Buses run every hour

• If the site closes due to severe weather, the tour could be rescheduled or refunded

• The last return bus is at the indicated closing time of the Vesuvio Express

• The entrance fee to the Vesuvius is not included

• Show your smartphone ticket to the staff at the meeting point: Ercolano, Piazzale Stazione Circumvesuviana

• The staff will give you a paper voucher before getting on the bus. You will be also able to select the available departure time with the staff, the departure is selected according to the time of the entrance ticket

• Please arrive 15 minutes before the departure time at the meeting point

• Buses run every hour. There is luggage storage available on-site

• After your visit, you can hop on the Vesuvio Express bus back to Herculaneum where you hop off, at Piazzale Gran Cono
