La Fenice is one of the most famous opera houses in the world. Its name means 'the phoenix', because it rose again after fires destroyed it, most recently in 1996.
Walk through the foyer, the Apollonian Rooms and the gilded hall, and look out from the Royal Box. An exhibition tells the story of Maria Callas and her years in Venice. The audio guide downloads to your own phone.
The theatre can close at short notice for rehearsals or technical reasons. In that case, you can use your ticket on another date.
