Pompeii was a busy Roman town until the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79 buried it under ash. Today you walk its streets past houses, temples, bakeries, baths and the amphitheatre, and see frescoes and mosaics that survived for almost 2,000 years.
You pick one of three tickets. Pompeii Express is a reserved entry at your time slot. Pompeii Plus adds the Villa of the Mysteries, the Villa of Diomedes and Villa Regina in Boscoreale. The third option adds a digital audio guide in many languages.
Before your visit, go to the Around Vesuvio office to exchange your voucher for the official Pompeii ticket. The office opens daily from 08:30 to 17:30. Bring an ID, comfortable shoes and water.
