Behind the grand halls of the Doge's Palace lies a hidden world of offices, passages and prisons where the Venetian Republic was really run. The Secret Itinerary tour takes you through these rooms.
With a guide, you see the Ducal Notary's office, the Hall of the Secret Chancellery, the Torture Room, the Pozzi cells and the Piombi, the prisons under the lead roof. After the tour you can visit the rest of the palace, the Bridge of Sighs, the Armory and the prisons on your own. The tour is in English only.
Enter through the main entrance in the guided tours line and go to the Itinerari Segreti sign in the courtyard, 15 minutes before your time. The minimum age is 6. The tour is not suitable for people with walking problems, claustrophobia, dizziness or heart problems, or for pregnant women.
