ARTIS opened in 1838 and is one of the oldest zoos in Europe, 10 minutes from the centre of Amsterdam. Old buildings and gardens sit beside the animal enclosures.
Your ticket includes ARTIS Park, the ARTIS Aquarium, with coral reefs and life from Amsterdam's canals, and the ARTIS Planetarium. At the Kerbert Terrace, the former lion house, you meet lemurs and Madagascar radiated tortoises. Keepers give talks every day.
Take tram 14 to the ARTIS stop. Micropia and the ARTIS-Groote Museum are not included.

• Pets are not allowed. Registered guide dogs are welcome
• Lockers are at the main entrance

• Tram 14 stops at ARTIS, near the main entrance
• Micropia and the ARTIS-Groote Museum are not included
