The Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza began as the private collection of the Thyssen-Bornemisza family. It follows the story of Western painting from the Middle Ages to the 20th century, and it fills many gaps that the Prado does not cover, such as Impressionism and modern art.
Your ticket includes the permanent collection and the temporary exhibitions. The time on your ticket is for the temporary exhibition only. You can see the permanent collection before or after it, and your ticket is valid for the whole day.
Under-18s enter free. The museum is on Paseo del Prado, a short walk from the Prado and the Reina Sofía.
