Visites guidées gratuites à pied à Barcelone : les 9 meilleures (2026)
Neuf visites guidées gratuites à Barcelone, en anglais, espagnol et italien : Gaudí, la vieille ville, El Raval, Montjuïc et le front de mer.

A free walking tour is the easiest way to start a trip to Barcelona. You book a place at no cost, walk with a local guide for two to three hours, and at the end you pay what you think the tour was worth. Most people give €10 to €15 per person. The guide shows you how the city fits together, and you leave with a list of places to eat and things to see.
Barcelona has a free tour for almost every interest: Gaudí, the medieval old town, legends and crime, the hill of Montjuïc and the seafront. Below are the nine free tours you can book with Artista Tours. Three are in English, one is in Spanish and five are in Italian. For each one we give the meeting point, the length and the route. All of them are on our free tours in Barcelona page.
1. Barcelona Original Free Walking Tour (English)
This is our most complete free tour, and it has more reviews than any other free tour on Artista. The Barcelona Original Free Walking Tour starts in front of the Sagrada Família and goes down Passeig de Gràcia, past Casa Milà, Casa Batlló and Casa Amatller, to Plaça de Catalunya, Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter. On the way, the guide tells the story of Catalan Modernism, Roman Barcelona and the legends of the old town.
It is the best choice for a first morning in the city. You see the outside of the most famous buildings, and you learn which ones are worth a ticket to go inside.
Meeting point: next to the KFC at the Sagrada Família, on Avinguda de Gaudí. Length: about 3 hours. Ends at the Pont del Bisbe in the Gothic Quarter.

2. Gothic Quarter, El Born and El Raval (English)
If you want the old town only, take the Gothic Quarter, El Born and El Raval free walking tour. It crosses the three neighbourhoods of the old town, which are very different from each other. El Raval is young, mixed and full of street life. The Gothic Quarter is the Roman and medieval centre. El Born is the old merchant district around Santa Maria del Mar.
The guide also gives tips for food, museums and bars, so this tour is a good choice for the second day too.
Meeting point: Plaça de la Universitat. Length: about 3 hours. Ends at the Barcelona History Museum (MUHBA) in Plaça del Rei.
3. Barcelona Born and Beyond (English)
The Born and Beyond tour is a different kind of walk. A curator-guide leads it, and it looks at the city through art, architecture and urban life. The route goes through the greenhouse of the Ciutadella park, the Mercat del Born and Carrer de Montcada, and includes a visit to a contemporary art gallery. There is free time for the independent shops of El Born before the tour reaches the sea.
Meeting point: the Arc de Triomf. Length: about 3 hours. Ends on the seafront at Barceloneta.

4. Barcelona Prohibida: forbidden Barcelona (Spanish)
For Spanish speakers who like a dark story, Barcelona Prohibida is a tour of the side of the old town that guidebooks leave out. It goes into El Raval and tells the stories of its ghosts, its brothels and the "Vampiresa del Raval", one of the most infamous criminals in Spanish history. It also stops at the bars where Hemingway, Dalí and Picasso drank. Look for the guide with the yellow umbrella.
Meeting point: Plaça Nova, in front of the Cathedral. Length: about 2 hours. Ends at the Font de Canaletes on La Rambla.
5. In Italian: the Gothic Quarter free tour
The next five tours are in Italian. For Italian speakers, the free tour of the Gothic Quarter in Italian is the classic introduction to the city. It goes down Las Ramblas and continues through the medieval streets to the Cathedral and Plaça Reial. It is a good choice for a first visit.
Meeting point: Plaça de Catalunya. Length: about 2 hours. Ends at the Monument als Castellers in the Gothic Quarter.
6. In Italian: the Sagrada Família from the outside
The free tour of the Sagrada Família exterior reads the basilica like a book of stone. The guide explains the symbols of the Nativity and Passion façades and the spiritual message Gaudí wanted to leave. The tour stays outside and does not include entry to the basilica. It is a good way to prepare for a visit inside, which you book separately with a Sagrada Família ticket.
Meeting point: Avinguda de Gaudí 2, in front of the KFC. Length: about 1.5 hours. Ends on Carrer de Provença, next to the basilica.
7. In Italian: Montjuïc free tour
The free tour of Montjuïc climbs the hill from Avinguda del Paral·lel to the castle. On the way you see the Magic Fountain, the Palau Nacional, which holds the MNAC museum, and the Olympic Ring of 1992. The guide tells the story of the 1929 Exhibition and the Olympic Games, with stops in the Joan Brossa gardens and at the Mirador de l'Alcalde, one of the best viewpoints over the port.
Meeting point: Avinguda del Paral·lel 298. Length: about 2.5 hours. Ends at Montjuïc Castle.

8. In Italian: Barceloneta and the Ciutadella park
The free tour of Barceloneta and the Ciutadella park follows the city from the 1888 Universal Exhibition to the sea. It starts at the Arc de Triomf, built as the entrance to the exhibition, and goes through the Ciutadella park, past the Cascada Monumental and the Parliament of Catalonia.
Meeting point: the Arc de Triomf. Length: about 2 hours. Ends on Barceloneta beach.
9. In Italian: from the Arc de Triomf to the sea
The free tour from the Arc de Triomf to Barceloneta takes a similar route with a different guiding company. It goes through the Ciutadella park and the Cascada Monumental, past the França station and the Old Port. If the tour in number 8 is full on your date, this is a good alternative.
Meeting point: Passeig de Lluís Companys 23, opposite the Trole restaurant. Length: about 2 hours. Ends at Plaça del Mar on the seafront.
