Compact, cyclable and effortlessly stylish, Denmark blends Viking heritage, royal castles and cutting-edge design with the cosy warmth of hygge. From Copenhagen's canals to windswept coastlines, it's one of the world's happiest and most walkable countries.
Artista Tours pairs you with local Danish guides who show you the city like a resident, the best bakeries, harbour swims, design shops and neighbourhood haunts, alongside the history behind the palaces and the Vikings who shaped the nation.
Sobre Denmark
Copenhagen charms with the colourful waterfront of Nyhavn, the Little Mermaid statue, Tivoli Gardens (one of the world's oldest amusement parks) and royal Amalienborg and Rosenborg palaces, plus world-renowned New Nordic dining. Across the Oresund, Malmo in Sweden is a quick train ride away.
Aarhus, Denmark's lively second city, is home to the ARoS art museum and the open-air Den Gamle By. Odense is the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen, while Roskilde holds a UNESCO cathedral and the Viking Ship Museum. Northern Jutland's Skagen is famed for its luminous light and the meeting of two seas. Danish food ranges from the classic open-faced smorrebrod and pastries (wienerbrod) to hot dogs from street carts and the New Nordic movement pioneered by restaurants like Noma.

Summer (June-August) is the prime season, with long daylight hours, harbour swimming, outdoor dining and festivals, though it's the busiest and priciest time. Late spring and early autumn offer mild weather and thinner crowds.
Winters are dark and cold but deeply hygge, with candlelit cafes and Christmas markets, and Tivoli Gardens transformed for the season. Don't miss the Roskilde Festival in summer, one of Europe's largest music events, and the long, light-filled Nordic summer evenings.
Como se deslocar
Denmark is a cyclist's paradise, Copenhagen has extensive bike lanes and rental schemes, and cycling is often the fastest way around the city. The capital also has a clean, driverless metro, plus buses and suburban S-trains.
Between cities, DSB trains are fast and comfortable, linking Copenhagen with Odense and Aarhus, while the Oresund Bridge connects to Malmo, Sweden. Ferries reach outer islands like Bornholm. City centers are compact and very walkable, so you rarely need a car for a Copenhagen-based trip.

Summer (June to August) is best for long daylight, harbour swims and festivals, though it's busiest. Late spring and early autumn bring mild weather and fewer crowds, while winter is dark but cosy, with Christmas markets and a festive Tivoli.
Three to four days covers Copenhagen and a castle or Viking day trip. Five to seven days lets you add Odense, Aarhus or a Baltic island like Bornholm for a broader taste of the country.
Denmark is in the EU and Schengen Area, so many travelers including US, UK, Canadian and Australian citizens can enter visa-free for up to 90 days in a 180-day period. Check your nationality's rules and note that ETIAS pre-authorization is expected to apply soon.
The official language is Danish, but English is spoken almost universally. Denmark uses the Danish krone (DKK), not the euro. It is largely a cashless society, so cards and mobile payments are accepted almost everywhere.
