The United Kingdom packs an astonishing variety into four nations, from the royal pomp and world-class museums of London to the dramatic castles of Scotland, the valleys of Wales and the green landscapes of Northern Ireland. Layered history, literary legends and living pageantry are everywhere.
Our guided tours and experiences bring Britain's story to life, whether you're exploring the Tower of London, hiking the Scottish Highlands, following in Shakespeare's footsteps, or standing among the ancient stones of Stonehenge.
Informazioni su United Kingdom
London, the capital, brims with icons: the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, the London Eye, plus free national museums like the British Museum and the National Gallery. To the north, Scotland's Edinburgh is crowned by its cliff-top castle, the Royal Mile and the annual Fringe festival, while Glasgow leads on music and Victorian architecture.
Beyond the cities lie Stonehenge and the Georgian city of Bath, the university towns of Oxford and Cambridge, and Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon. Nature shines in the Scottish Highlands and Loch Ness, the Lake District, Wales's Snowdonia (Eryri), and Northern Ireland's Giant's Causeway. British food has come a long way: alongside fish and chips, the Sunday roast, afternoon tea and the full English breakfast, you'll find vibrant multicultural dining and a fine tradition of cozy pubs.

Late spring (May–June) and early autumn (September) offer the best balance of milder weather, long daylight and lighter crowds. Summer (July–August) is peak season with the warmest days, the Edinburgh festivals and outdoor events, though it's busiest and priciest. Winter is cold, wet and dark but atmospheric, with festive markets and lower prices. Pack layers and rain gear year-round, as British weather is famously changeable.
Come spostarsi
Fast, frequent trains connect major cities: London to Edinburgh takes about 4.5 hours, and rail reaches most towns (book ahead for cheaper fares). London's Underground (the Tube), buses and the contactless Oyster/pay-as-you-go system make the capital easy to navigate. National Express and Megabus offer budget coaches. Remember that the UK drives on the left; a rental car suits the Highlands, Lake District and countryside, but city driving and parking can be difficult.

A week lets you enjoy London plus a couple of day trips, or split time between London and Edinburgh via the train. Ten to fourteen days allows a fuller itinerary including the Scottish Highlands, Bath and Stonehenge, and perhaps Wales or the Lake District.
For popular sites like the Tower of London, the London Eye, Westminster Abbey and the Harry Potter Studio Tour, yes, timed tickets are strongly recommended and often sell out. Many national museums, however, are free and need no booking.
Trains are comfortable and scenic, with London to Edinburgh taking around 4.5 hours. Booking in advance secures much cheaper fares. Domestic flights are faster door-to-door only when time is very tight, given airport transfers.
The UK uses the pound sterling (GBP), not the euro. Contactless card and mobile payments are accepted almost everywhere, including on London transport, so you rarely need much cash.
Tipping is more modest than in the US. In restaurants, 10–12.5% is customary if a service charge isn't already added to the bill. Tipping isn't expected in pubs when ordering at the bar, and it's optional for taxis.
